On my current attempt to clean up the mirrors list, one of the mirror admins answered quite fast on my mail that their mirror is not current: $mirror has been bitten by bug 318463 in e2fsprogs which has prevented successful checking of /home, such that the user which performs rsync to update the mirror has had trouble logging the results and running the rsync script at all. I noticed that rsync ran successfully this morning (I run it once every 24 hours in cron), and now that e2fsprogs is fixed, this should no longer be a problem in the future.

That was the best answer I got till now. And you can see that this mirror admin is really devoted to Debian.

(And, BTW, please don't read this as negative about e2fsprogs - it just happens sometimes that a bad bug stays somewhere at an unfortunate time ...)
